Clean Coast Texas Workshop
The Texas General Land Office held 2 online workshops in early 2021 to share the upcoming Clean Coast Texas program, an initiative of the Texas Coastal Nonpoint Source Pollution Program. The initiative helps communities reduce pollution and enhance water quality along the Texas Coast as part of the Texas Coastal Resiliency Master Plan. Recordings of the workshops are available on YouTube.

FEMA has released the final PrepTalk video from the Sept. 6, 2018 symposium: ”Using Complex Adaptive Systems Thinking to Understand Community Interdependencies.” In his PrepTalk, Dr. Charles "Chick" Macal urges emergency managers to apply the principles of systems thinking to their work in preparedness and response. Dr. Macal discusses how he believes systems thinking helps to unravel the hidden interdependencies of human behavior, critical infrastructure, and decision-making in today’s complex world. Houston Association of Realtors H-Town Day Flood Recovery Panel Discussion
Representatives from City of Houston, Harris County Flood Control District, United States Army Corps of Engineers, and FEMA were speakers on the Flood Recovery Panel at Houston Association of Realtors’ (HAR) H-Town Day event on April 11, 2019. Two hundred of Houston’s top real estate professionals were invited to attend the event. Valuable information on the National Flood Insurance Program, flood map changes, risk assessment, process for funding public assistance projects, among other topics, were discussed.
